From the start to canter with reins in one hand.
Good riding begins with a good relationship with the horse - what many call horsemanship or simply horse
sense. Confident handling on the ground - leading, grooming, saddling, lunging, and loading -
is just as important as riding itself, yet is often overlooked. These skills are rarely taught
correctly, if at all, and even textbooks seldom offer practical guidance. Many major
problems - and sometimes dangerous situations - arise from simple misunderstandings
between horse and human. Once a rider respects the horse's nature and speaks its
language, many things suddenly become effortless.
Before riding can truly become an art form, a solid seat and clear, consistent aids are essential.
On the lunge, the rider should be able to initiate and ride all gaits without using
the reins, as well as master the light seat in trot and canter. From there - or in
parallel - the rider learns how to steer and regulate speed. Perfection is rare,
but for the horse's wellbeing, its important to always strive to improve seat and aids.
Twenty-three-year-old Geronimo gives his all for his favorite student.
Once the basics are in place, the real artistry begins: gymnastic exercises to
supple and strengthen the horse. Lateral
work and collected exercises refine the rider's aids even further. To give aids
not only with the right intensity but also at the right moment, the rider must
develop a fine sensitivity to changes in the horse's posture, movement, and
weight distribution. Equally important is the psychological skill that
distinguishes a good rider: knowing when to ask for more and when to stop,
to keep the horse motivated.
I offer mobile lessons in the Ebersberg and Grafing area, as well as training
on my own horses. Beginners and advanced riders are welcome; children from
around 12 years old can also join. On request, lessons may include groundwork,
in-hand work, loading training, liberty work, trick training, or lunging.
Group courses can be arranged with enough participants.

Please get in touch preferably in writing (email, SMS, or WhatsApp) to
arrange lessons. As I am often riding, teaching, or driving, phone
calls can be difficult to answer.
