My name is Martina Mayer and I offer mobile riding lessons and horse training in the east of Munich and the area around Ebersberg and Grafing.
I don't run a riding school, but individual lessons on my private horses are possible by arrangement at
Höhenberg 1, Frauenneuharting
(45 min from Munich per car).
Both beginners and advanced riders are warmly welcome.
I started working as a mobile riding instructor and trainer in 2008 and have been dedicated to the art of classical riding as my full-time profession
since completing my biology studies in 2010.
In contrast to dressage riding as a competitive sport, where the horse is used to perform individual exercises as flawlessly as possible to impress judges,
classical art of riding is entirely focused on the well-being of the horse. Exercises are not performed to impress judges but rather with the goal of gymnasticizing
the horse, making it supple and strong. This sets classical art of riding apart from working styles of riding such as Western riding or Working Equitation, where it
often happens that only specific movements required for "work" are trained and sometimes even automated. Conversely, classical art of riding serves as the perfect
foundation for all equestrian disciplines. With a horse that responds promptly to light aids and can move well, it is likely to achieve long-term success in all areas of riding.
Horses trained in the classical manner can be ridden one-handed without much preparation, herd cattle, open gates, or tackle a long-distance ride across the Alps.
Personally, I love such challenges, both for the variety they offer and to test the correctness of my training.
Lesson of Hans-Walter Dörr
Throughout my journey, I have been profoundly influenced by Hans-Walter Dörr and Marc de Broissia, who have shared their extensive knowledge with me during numerous riding courses. However, I have also had the privilege of meeting many other outstanding riders and horse enthusiasts, such as Ruth Giffels, Richard Hinrichs, Manolo Mendez, Klaus Krzisch, Christian Carde, Andrea Jänisch, Katrin Frankenberger, Manolo Oliva, and Eduardo Almeida, during various courses. They have allowed me to explore the art of riding in its various styles. Nevertheless, horses remain my everyday teachers: I continually learn new things from my own horses, as well as from the horses of my students and those in training. Meanwhile I accumulated about 20 years of experience working with a diverse range of horses.
